certificate, marriage records, death certificate, driver license or
college degree...etc.

can however notarize your signature on a document that states
you are in possession of the original document.
You will be "certifying" your own copy by signing your name under oath
and penalty of perjury. You must contact your requesting
party to find out if they need a copy
of your passport "certification by document" (you)
custodian or certified copy of your passport
records.
As
a California notary by law we can not tell you or recommend
which

by
